Job Responsibilities:
1. Keeping all grounds and buildings secure, including:
1. Acting as a key-holder and controlling site keys, routine and non-routine opening
2. Liaising with security officers
3. Reporting any breaches of security and ensuring that resultant damage is remedied properly and promptly
Porterage, Administrative, and Letting Duties:
1. Undertaking/arranging for the safe storing and moving of items of furniture, equipment, and provisions as required.
2. Receiving and directing all deliveries for the school, assisting in the reception and vetting of visitors.
3. Maintaining stocks of materials, protective clothing, and equipment as required.
4. Keeping up-to-date records, inventories, and forms as required.
5. Assisting in the agreed procedures relating to lettings/functions on school premises.
Management Duties:
1. Line managing a small team of premises staff, formulating and operating rotas to ensure staff availability.
2. Transporting monies to and from the bank, and delivering and collecting small items in the locality of the school.
3. Managing the premises budget and associated reporting.
4. Placing orders for materials required by the premises team and certifying goods received.
5. Drawing up and maintaining a premises development plan prioritizing work and estimating costs.
6. Producing and implementing an annual maintenance plan.
7. Drawing up a list of approved contractors for repairs and maintenance.
Health and Safety Compliance:
1. Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
2. Periodic inspection of all areas.
3. Ensuring that appropriate signs and notices are displayed.
4. Ensuring that hazards are removed and fire exits are accessible.
5. Ensuring that first aid equipment and supplies are maintained and readily available.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out all reasonable duties in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures.
2. Declaring any conflict of interest that may arise before or during employment.
3. Undergoing and meeting school conditions for a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
4. Complying with all equality legislation, policies, and procedures.
5. Demonstrating a commitment to good customer care.
6. Basic training in plumbing, general maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, or equivalent experience.
7. Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, heating systems, maintenance, and security systems.
