About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Phonics Teacher to work with students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require additional support to develop their literacy skills. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted phonics lessons to students requiring literacy intervention, using proven strategies and phonics programmes. Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to individual student needs, ensuring engagement and progress. Work closely with subject teachers, SEND staff, and the pastoral team to integrate phonics learning into the broader curriculum. Use assessment tools to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Build students' confidence and enthusiasm for reading and writing, fostering a love of learning. Contribute to the development of whole-school literacy initiatives. What We're Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary training. Proven experience teaching phonics at primary level, ideally using schemes such as Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or Jolly Phonics. Passionate about literacy and committed to improving outcomes for students with varying levels of ability. Experience supporting students with SEND or EAL is highly desirable.
