Assistant Finance Business Partner - West Yorkshire Police
One full-time permanent role
Your new role:
In this role you will be responsible for the development of key links between the finance and commercial services directorate and Policing Districts and Departments and other operational business units. The role reports directly to the Finance Business Partner.
Your Purpose:
1. Working with the Business Partner of the respective areas to prepare and coordinate the production of capital and revenue budgets.
2. Working with the Business partner and other key finance colleagues proactively monitor and report on the financial position in their allocated area of responsibility.
3. Assist with the delivery of efficiency planning, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains or savings.
4. Ensure all costs attributed to the delivery of contracts are captured accurately in the financial management toolset.
5. Deliver robust, continuous base budget review to drive value in their areas of responsibility.
6. Ad hoc projects and support to the Finance Director.
What you'll need to succeed:
1. A holder of the AAT qualification.
2. Preferable business partnering experience.
3. Developed commercial knowledge and business understanding. Strong technical accounting skills & knowledge and good excel skills.
4. Experience of budgetary control, financial planning and forecasting at a senior level.
5. Strong people skills; comfortable in interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels of seniority.
6. Well-developed communication and influencing skills. Collaborative approach.
7. Attention to detail whilst still being able to work at a tactical level.
