Position Summary: The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all items are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. To manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.
2. To repair parts and equipment when needed.
3. To inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.
4. To order parts and equipment as necessary.
5. To complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply signatures as appropriate.
6. To identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the Electrical Team Leader.
7. To undertake training as and when required.
8. To work within a realistic timeframe.
9. To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
10. To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities.
11. To ensure that standard preventive measures are applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
12. To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
13. To mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
14. To follow written or verbal instruction.
15. Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
16. Ensure all health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to.
17. Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence.
18. Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company’s ISO (9001, 14001, and 45001) standards and certification.
