Who Are We SEND Coffee is a nonprofit that works with young adults with S pecial E ducational N eeds and D isabilities. Most of this work happens at our coffee shop spaces around London, such as Clarnico in Hackney Wick, Curators in Bank, and Kitchen in Fitzrovia. In 2023 we won the Mayor of London Employer of the Year award, in 2022 & 2023 we won national awards for our course, and we were rated as Outstanding by OFSTED at every inspection in the past 5 years. Our small management team consists of 5 brilliant, kind individuals with a huge range of experience in both the UK coffee industry and the charity sector, lead by our incredibly dedicated founder. What's The Role Our founder started the nonprofit in 2019, and beyond the day to day running of SEND he is also deeply involved in the charity sector, with volunteering roles, trusteeships, and a range of personal philanthropic projects. However, he has recently been struggling to keep up with the various threads of these obligations, and needs support in managing himself more effectively for the benefit of the organisation. This role would primarily have the following functions; - Monitoring communications and allocating priorities, i.e. deciding what should be focused on week to week. - Managing calendars, bookings, and appointments. - Handling of documents and correspondence. - Curating and updating social media channels with relevant activities. - Managing relevant social events, obligations, and networking opportunities. - Providing structured feedback and performance reviews. The role would be Monday-Friday, and a healthy work life balance is important to the ethos of the organisation. Our hope is this role would allow someone to flourish and learn what goes into running a nonprofit, or allow someone to grow into a management role. This is a new function, and would be given space to be steered by the succesful applicant towards their personal development goals. Who Are You Naturally, this is a role that requires a high level of organisational ability, and this cannot be your first experience with organising in general. However, we are open to this being a role for someone new to PA, EA, or management in general, and believe that experience in other areas that demonstrate strategic organisational ability will be considered. This role would suit someone with experience in the charity sector, or with a passion to enter it, though this is not a strict requirement. Alternatively this could suit someone with coffee sector experience, if they were also able to demonstrate organisational abilities. You must be able to work in London, and be comfortable working in our various businesses and spaces. Whilst remote work will be possible at times, this role is primarily an in person one. You must also have an eye for detail, so please include your favourite colour as part of your cover letter. You must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check and have the right to work in the UK.
