We are looking for a number of Engineering Technicians to join the Ware site's engineering team to provide engineering expertise to support production activities (by performing a variety of tasks relating to manufacture of GSK's products). Engineering Technicians work in a team (managed by an Engineer) to support the highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, and technical functions at the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance, calibrations, physical interventions and repair activities. Engineering Technician tasks may include: • Calibration of critical process and utility equipment • Fault finding, problem solving and breakdown resolution • Maintenance activities on utilities equipment • Routine testing of HVAC systems including air quality • Continuous improvement of production and utilities equipment and processes • Completion of statutory inspections eg ATEX, zero access, LOTO • Liaising with cross functional teams; Quality, Validation, Site operations • You may also be involved with project work (including commissioning and installing new equipment) Shift Pattern: The site operates on a variety of shift patterns depending on the department, with the main production shift being 24/5 (12-hour shifts). There is also a Double-Days 16/5 (8-hour shifts) and a 24/7 shift pattern (12-hour shifts). The shift patterns can be discussed prior to & during interview stage and preferences will be considered. About You: Relevant engineering qualifications and / or experience is required (eg; HND / HNC, Engineering Apprenticeship). A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. The respiratory team operates as three main functional areas; Front-End Blend/Fill, Device Assembly and Packaging. Engineering technicians in Respiratory operate across a variety of engineering disciplines and work in a team (managed by a Shift Engineer) to support the highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, and technical functions at the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance and calibrations as well as reactive diagnostic & repair activities. Technicians may also support project teams with installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment as well as continuous improvement activities, equipment modifications and upgrades. Assembly Engineering operates a 24/7 shift pattern to support maintenance activities required to sustain and improve line performance, while all other Respiratory areas are aligned with production teams on a 24/5 pattern. Oral and Solid Dose OSD are looking for Engineering Technician candidates to join our Oral and Solid Dose (OSD) team to provide engineering expertise to support production activities. We are co-located with our R&D colleagues and recently opened a new, state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility at Ware. The OSD Supply Chain at the Ware manufacturing site is responsible for performing a variety of tasks relating to the manufacture of GSK's Oral and Solid Dose products. The Oral Solid Dose (OSD) department supports end to end tablet manufacturing (Dispensing, Granulation, Compression, Coating, Packing) to provide Engineering technical support of production equipment and associated plant. Engineering Technicians work in a team (managed by a Shift Engineer) to support the highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, and technical functions at the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance, calibrations, physical interventions and repair activities. They also support project teams with installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment as well as continuous improvement activities and equipment modifications and upgrades. The team operates on a Double-Days shift pattern Monday to Friday; 06:00 to 14:00 (earlies) & 13:45 to 21:35 (lates). This shift alternates 1-week on earlies and 1-week on lates. Other Areas The site also processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for use both on site and other manufacturing sites in our network. Basic Qualifications: Relevant qualifications/certificate and experience (e.g. Engineering Apprenticeship. An HNC / HND Level qualification).
