Working Pattern Full time, 36.25 hrs per week

About the Role
We currently have an exciting vacancy in the Public Health team leading on mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention.
Supporting our residents to live healthy and independent lives includes enabling people to be part of mentally healthy, safe and supportive families, education settings, workplaces and communities. The Public Health Manager will lead in influencing, commissioning, monitoring and recording the impact of workstreams to successfully deliver against this ambition of Trafford’s mental health delivery plan. The postholder will also lead system efforts across Trafford to prevent suicide, including prioritising efforts to address the needs of vulnerable populations.
You'll work collaboratively as part of the public health team and with key stakeholders across the Local Authority, NHS, the voluntary sector and across Trafford’s four neighbourhood networks to strengthen and embed system efforts for mental health promotion and prevention.
About you
You will have demonstrable public health skills and experience including: use of data and intelligence to understand population health need, a knowledge of evidence-based approaches and experience of leading, implementing and monitoring the impact of programmes of work designed to improve population health outcomes. You will have strong communication skills both written and oral. You will have experience of strategy development and delivery and be confident to present clearly and concisely to a wide range of audiences in order to influence decision makers and command the confidence of others. You’ll have a track record of successful partnership working and have strong organisational skills. You will be able to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to improve mental health and well-being outcomes.
