We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their thriving team in Haywards Heath. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to advance into a larger practice or transition into a more senior bookkeeping role. The firm offers a competitive salary ranging from £27,000 to £35,000 and provides study support for those wishing to complete their AAT or ICB qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients. Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
2. Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of accounts up to trial balance, ensuring all financial data is accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
3. Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of clients' bank accounts and financial statements.
4. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
5. Payroll Support: Provide support in processing payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
6. Management Reports: Produce management reports and financial statements as required, providing valuable insights to clients for their business operations.
7. Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel to maintain and manage clients' financial records efficiently.
8. Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to address queries, provide updates, and deliver excellent customer service.
9. Team Collaboration: Work within a friendly and collaborative team of bookkeepers, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
Requirements
1. Experience: Proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice.
2. Qualifications: Part-qualified or qualified by experience. Study support is available for AAT or ICB qualifications.
3. Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
4. Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
5. Proactive: A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
