Quattro Plant Limited is looking for a Transport Co-ordinator to be responsible for the co-ordination of assets to optimise available resources (vehicles and drivers) for operational efficiency. This being the key to streamlining operations while ensuring customer satisfaction.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
1. To ensure that the depot can meet its contracted obligations for equipment on site, planning and arranging deliveries.
2. To monitor and report on availability and movements, highlighting potential problems.
3. Maintaining appropriate controls over the fleet.
4. Ensuring that vehicles are maintained and licensed in accordance with relevant legislation.
5. To attend review meetings to understand what is required.
6. To report any defect in vehicles and plant that may affect performance and safety.
7. Ensure all customer orders are planned efficiently with a high level of customer service and attention to safety and compliance.
8. Deal with relevant enquiries in an appropriate and timely manner.
9. Manage and allocate effectively assets in line with customer orders thereby controlling asset stocks.
10. Work closely with the Contract Manager to maintain customer satisfaction.
11. Ensure that all relevant information is entered in and maintained in the Company's management system (Syrinx).
12. Support the Contract Manager where required with the allocation of operators to contracted works in compliance with company procedures relating to fatigue and competence.
Essential Skills and Experience
1. A proven and effective manager of people and resources, with excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
2. Resilience and the ability to adapt quickly to last minute changes in a very fast paced environment.
3. The person must be prepared to take responsibility and to be held accountable.
4. Strong communication skills, with an ability to focus on specific customer delivery restrictions and requirements. This will involve a high degree of liaison across various disciplines within Quattro (Maintenance Staff, Contract Managers and Transport staff) as well as with customers. This must include an ability to interface with people at all levels.
5. Attention to detail.
6. Tenacity to bring problems to a satisfactory conclusion.
7. Extensive experience of plant and efficient route planning.
8. Computer literate.
9. Good written English and Numeracy skills.
Desirable
1. An excellent “working” knowledge of the rail market and machine capability. This will involve a good understanding of the appropriate legislative and safety requirements.
