Location: London - Hybrid working allows for a balance of 50% of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid arrangements can evolve based on business requirements.

Duration: 2 years
Entry Requirements:
You should hold, or be working towards, a minimum of 2 GCSEs Grade 4 (C) and above, including Maths and English Language, plus 2 A-Levels in any subject at grade A* - D or equivalent. You are not eligible if you currently hold or are working towards a qualification at the same or higher level in a related subject or have already studied content from the qualification for this scheme. You must be 18 years of age by 8 September 2025.
Medical Requirements: A satisfactory medical, which may include drugs and alcohol screening, eye tests, and hearing tests, will be required upon offer acceptance.

Job Overview:
The Mayor of London aims to deliver an affordable, accessible, safe, and modern transport network. Our Project Management team is responsible for delivering hundreds of projects impacting Londoners, from new cycle lanes to upgrading train tracks. You will be part of the team that delivers this investment programme, vital for managing modern demands on an ageing transport network.
What will I be doing?
As an apprentice, you will support your project team in day-to-day tasks. Responsibilities may include identifying and managing project risks, ensuring schedule accuracy, drafting reports, and working with contractors to ensure timely delivery. You will engage with various teams of different sizes and disciplines.
Your two-year development programme consists of four six-month placement rotations in different areas of TfL. Our aim is to equip you with the skills and experience needed for a successful career.
Placement Overview
Placement 1 – Surface Transport: Understanding the operational business and fundamentals of Project Management.
Placement 2 – Major Projects: Gaining stakeholder management experience and supporting the Project Manager in contract management and budget assessment.
Placement 3 – London Underground: Supporting teams in continuous improvements to upgrade networks.
Placement 4 – Technology and Data: Learning to manage planning schedules and supporting the development of business cases for new projects.
Career Progression: Upon successful completion, you could transition to an Assistant Project Manager or Project Coordinator position, with further opportunities for advancement.
Training and Support:
You will work towards a Level 4 apprenticeship qualification through a portfolio of work and professional discussions. Our teams will support your development through practical experiences, training, and mentoring.

Assessment Process:
You will receive information around each assessment stage as you progress. Pay close attention to emails and deadlines, noting you have one week to complete assessments.
Assessment centres will take place from February to April, with many roles having only one assessment day.
