The Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Digital Marketing to join our Oxfordshire full-service marketing agency, supporting our 2025 vision. This person will lead both client-side digital marketing strategies and internal agency marketing initiatives to drive growth, brand awareness, and measurable success.
You will be responsible for developing and executing high-impact digital marketing strategies across multiple channels while working closely with clients to understand their business goals and deliver data-driven solutions. Additionally, you will lead the agency’s marketing efforts, overseeing brand positioning and internal marketing initiatives to elevate our market presence and drive growth.

Please note: This is a temporary contract position to cover maternity leave. Starting April 2025 for 9-12 months.
Work alongside the Director of Digital and Director of New Business to develop and help execute strategic campaigns, covering creative ideation, channel strategy, syndication strategy, new business marketing pipeline, and reporting to deliver cohesive and effective campaigns.
Work alongside the Client Services team and with the Digital team to create and deliver digital strategies for our Clients.
Line management - 3 x staff.
What you’ll be doing:
Client Side:
1. Developing and implementing effective digital marketing strategies across various channels, including but not limited to SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
2. Working closely with clients to understand their business goals and develop customised digital marketing plans that meet their needs.
3. Analysing data and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns and presenting this data coherently back to our clients, including recommendations for improvements.
4. Conducting market research and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends, marketing tools and technologies, and best practices to inform strategy development.
5. Collaborating with other teams within the agency, including design and development, to ensure seamless execution of digital marketing initiatives.
6. Management of the Digital Marketing team - x 2 team members.
Agency Side:
1. Developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies for h2o creative, across the whole marketing mix (digital channels, events, awards, and PR initiatives etc.).
2. Overseeing the agency's brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistent and impactful communication across all platforms.
3. Tracking and analysing the effectiveness of agency marketing efforts, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the agency's marketing activities align with overall business objectives and drive growth.
5. Tracking and setting the marketing budget.
6. Management of the Internal Marketing team x 1 team member.
Requirements
Experience / Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably within an agency environment.
2. Extensive experience developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies across multiple digital channels (SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, and content marketing).
3. Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to execute digital strategies seamlessly.
4. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present data, insights, and strategic recommendations effectively to clients and stakeholders.
5. Hands-on experience with analytics tools and CRM platforms (Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, HubSpot, Salesforce, Meta Business Manager, etc.), with the ability to derive actionable insights and optimise campaigns based on performance metrics.
6. Proven ability to manage and allocate marketing budgets effectively to maximise ROI.
7. Demonstrated experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a digital marketing team.
