Controls Engineer – Systems Integration – Worcestershire – £40-60k + uplift for site work + annual bonus
Samuel Frank is working with a well-regarded, specialist systems integrator as they’re recruiting for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their team.
Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include:
* Wide variety of project work – the company doesn’t specialise in one sector, so you could be involved in anything from power generation, energy from waste, water treatment, renewables, theme park controls, process control or machinery automation.
* The company prides itself on being a “friendly bunch” of talented Engineers where work/life balance is recognised as a key factor in delivering high calibre, complex projects.
* Control Engineer role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to become a mini-expert in that particular sector per project delivered.
* The successful Control Engineer will have at least 5 years relevant commercial experience and could have worked on any of the major PLC providers such as Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi (as long as you can program from scratch – all other PLC platforms will also be considered).
* Preparation of software specifications, test procedures and manuals.
* Liaison with clients, suppliers and contractors.
* Company estimates roughly two thirds of your time will be office based, designing and developing the code and then the rest of the time will be spent on site commissioning.
* For the time spent on site, the company will pay a £75/day uplift regardless of the number of hours worked that day.
* Control Engineers who’ve led teams and are interested in project delivery could be well suited for the higher end of the salary bracket.
The position is commutable from most of the West Midlands including places such as Redditch, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Worcester, Leamington Spa and Hereford.
