JOB TITLE: Group Net Zero & Sustainability Lead
LOCATION: Hybrid/Flexible (Occasional travel to Leeds and other offices)

Summary
NG Bailey are looking to recruit an experienced Group Net Zero & Sustainability Lead to drive the achievement of our environmental Net Positive priorities and lead our environmental corporate performance and reporting requirements for TCFD, SECR and similar.
This is a full time permanent position offering Hybrid and Flexible working arrangements however there will be a requirement to travel and to have some presence at our Leeds office (LS12 6EH).
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
1. Work with all levels of stakeholders across the business to increase engagement on net zero strategy and support GHG emissions reduction initiatives.
2. Lead, monitor and drive performance against our Science Based Targets, seeing us continually progress towards our 1.5 degree near term target of 50% reduction in 2031 and ultimately our Net Zero target for 2045.
3. Responsible for the ongoing development of the Net Zero roadmap for the Group, defining NG Bailey's zero carbon and zero waste agenda longer term.
4. Identify the carbon and waste priorities and ensure our investment and actions are aligned to our customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers and community stakeholders' priorities.
5. Work in conjunction with our procurement team to deliver our 2026 target to have 75% of our supply chain by spend with science-based targets.
6. Work with the comms and marketing teams to develop a net zero and sustainability narrative that features in our external and internal communications.
7. Annual reporting on carbon performance requirements and ad-hoc/customer requirements.
8. Engage and increase the awareness of social value across the Group.
9. Be the main point of contact for environmental queries and performance/progress requests with internal and external stakeholders e.g. SBTi, clients, SLTs.
10. Maintain an awareness of the current and emerging environmental regulation and legislation ensuring any issues are identified, communicated and considered by the relevant managers to ensure compliance and reduction of risk.
11. Ensure compliance with external reporting and legislative reporting requirements.
12. Define and develop appropriate interim goals primarily for carbon and waste in partnership with others, to maximise understanding, achievement, engagement and competitive advantage.
13. Represent the business with clients and at industry events.
14. Complete ITT, PQQ or similar client-based requirements for the purpose of work winning.
What we're looking for:
1. Proven experience in net zero pathways, carbon accounting and management.
2. Passion for sustainability, carbon and waste reduction.
3. Excellent stakeholder relationship development and management.
4. Relevant degree or professional qualification in environmental/sustainability/science or similar.
5. Ability to understand, manipulate and analyse large and complex data sets.
6. Extensive track record of working in a similar role ideally within a similar sized business.
