The Role – Management Accountant This role sits within our friendly Finance team and is responsible for completing month end and balance sheet reconciliation tasks on time, and ensuring a high quality and accuracy of work. A full job description is available on request, but to summarise your key responsibilities: Producing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and analytical commentary. Management of all property accounting, rents, rates, utilities etc. Management of the transition to FIRS 16 Accruing/Prepaying monthly costs, preparing journals and maintaining schedules. Take responsibility for key balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a periodic basis. Support with budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans Liaise with treasurer to ensure cashflow forecasts are accurate. Ownership of key areas for the business, such as property and utilities. Assisting with audit by carrying out the required preparatory and analytical work. Promoting sound financial management by ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary. The Skills – Management Accountant To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills, experience and qualities: Qualified accountant (such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with some established post-qualification experience in a management accounting role including month-end processes. Experience of a similar multi-site retail business, understanding the factors that contribute to financial performance. Strong skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required - it would be also beneficial to have experience with Sage and Jedox but not essential.
