We are looking for a registered pharmacist from any background to join our team in a role split working in our medicine and antimicrobial teams. This is a really exciting time to join University Hospitals of Leicester and the pharmacy department in particular.

Main duties of the job
You will utilise your clinical skills and experience by providing clinical pharmacy services to wards and other areas, assisting with the training and development of others and supporting the improvement of the services.
You will gain specialist skills in antimicrobial optimisation and assist in delivering the Trust's antimicrobial stewardship programme. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and will help maintain the high standard of services that are already provided.
Independent Prescribing is integral to our pharmacist’s roles. In this post you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge and specialist skills within one of the following areas: Emergency and Specialist Medicine Clinical Management Group.
The post holder will be expected to contribute towards evening, on-call, bank holiday and weekend rotas.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* To deliver a clinical service to patients, including taking patient drug histories, rationalising prescribing, advising on and compiling treatment protocols, therapeutic drug monitoring and monitoring compliance.
* To support the CMG Lead Pharmacist in maintaining and improving the pharmaceutical service to the clinical management group (CMG).
* To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed standard of pharmaceutical care to identified patients in order to achieve the safe and cost-effective use of medicine.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Master’s degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy.
* Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Post-graduate certificate in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy practice or evidence of equivalent clinical experience.
* Working towards completion of a Post graduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy/ Pharmacy practice.
* Membership of a professional body e.g. MRPharmS or UKCPA or equivalent specialist group.
Skills
* Sound current clinical knowledge.
* Evidence of communication skills, verbal/written. Good interpersonal and communication.
* Previous supervisory/management training.
Experience
* Approaching 2 years (minimum) post-registration experience in pharmacy practice with relevant clinical experience.
* Experience of working in hospital or equivalent sector.
