Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work with the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) for the planning and delivery of physiotherapy, including the care of musculoskeletal injuries. They are to lead in the development of rehabilitation service delivery and advise on physiotherapy within the Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility (PCRF).
They will act as a source of advanced clinical expertise in the management of musculoskeletal dysfunction and provide an advisory service to patients, other senior physiotherapists, Health Care Professionals, and General Practitioners (GPs) within the practice and region.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessments of patients referred by Consultants and Medical Officers (MO) from across the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Program; presentations will include diverse, complex, and chronic physical and psychological conditions and sports and training injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* Acting as an integral component of the specialist Multi-disciplinary Injury Assessment Clinic (MIAC), working across a wide range of codes of practice and broad occupational policies.
* Formulating, developing, and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment, and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Leading in the development of junior Specialist Physiotherapists, offering advice and help with more complex conditions both within the Practice and across the DPHC Region.
* Assisting the Healthcare Governance Lead in developing protocols to enhance the clinical development and efficacy of clinics and Special Interest Groups.
* Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.

Person Specification
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
Registrations and Memberships
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP).
* HCPC Registered as a Physiotherapist.
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to master's level or equivalent.
Experience
* Proven experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal, sports injuries, and orthopaedic conditions.
* Proven experience in the application of mobilisation and manipulation techniques.
£46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum. Pro rata for part-time.
