Assistant Accountant / Sales Administrator
Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Salary: Up to £32,000 (DOE)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant / Sales Administrator to join a reputable family-run car dealership in Kingston Upon Thames. This opportunity has arisen due to the opening of a new site, and it’s ideal for someone from the motor trade looking to take the next step in their accounting career.
This role involves supporting the Dealership Accountant and working closely with the operational teams across three dealership sites. You will play a key role in maintaining financial control and ensuring the accounting processes are running smoothly, contributing to the overall success of the dealership group.
Key Responsibilities as an Accounts Assistant / Sales Administrator with our client:
1. Daily and weekly tasks:
Liaising with local management and group-level finance teams to ensure consistent financial practicesManaging risk, working capital, and ensuring timely completion of all accounts tasksFunding vehicles on the Used Vehicle Funding Portal and settling them upon saleVehicle Sales administrationChasing aged debtors
2. Monthly tasks:
Completing bank reconciliations and manufacturer bonus debt reconciliationsAssisting with the production of management accountsPosting accruals and prepaymentsManaging demo write-downs and assisting with the sales and purchase ledger closeReviewing and reporting on aged debtorsAssisting with composite submissions to the brand
Ideal Candidate:
3. Previous experience working in a similar role within the motor industry is essential
4. Comfortable working independently and supervising a small team
5. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
6. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
7. Knowledge of sales administration in the motor industry would be beneficial, as well as familiarity with systems like AFRL and Pinnacle, though this is not essential
