Applications are invited for the post of Senior Teaching and Research Technician, supporting our MSc in Molecular Biosciences and MSc in Biotechnology programmes within the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Bath. About the role You will be expected to use your experience and skills to effectively support the delivery of laboratory-based teaching activities across our MSc programmes. The role will involve working with academic staff and MSc students to facilitate the smooth running of the laboratory classes, contributing to the assessment of MSc student work, assisting with the development of new teaching activities and supporting MSc student’s research projects. With excellent practical skills you will lead the technical team across the MSc’s main experimental research themes; focusing on molecular biology, microbiology, and tissue engineering. Ideally, you will have significant experience and practical knowledge in one of these main areas. Examples techniques include; nucleic acid amplification and purification, cloning, bacterial/fungal transformations, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing, microbial fermentation, mammalian cell-culture, protein quantification and visualisation, immunohistology.
