We are inviting applications from Allied Health Professionals, Nurses or those with a Social Work qualification. We are looking for experienced Clinicians who are keen to further their specialist skills in the Mental Capacity Act and who are looking for the opportunity to be part of a newly formed evolving team who are dynamically working to ensure we provide the best care and support for the most vulnerable patients we care for. On the job training and development will be provided.
The focus of the role will be to support the trust to demonstrate improving compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). You will be required to develop, deliver and support all staff throughout the trust at all levels to build their confidence and competence with using and implementing the MCA. This role will help to ensure patients with complex vulnerabilities due to capacity issues are protected from harm, received the correct support and have appropriate adjustments made to ensure their journey is individualised, safe and therapeutic.
You will be a source of advice in relation to MCA matters, Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) and act as a point of contact when the Trust is involved in any Court of Protection cases. You will be working with the Acute Hospital and Community Hospitals including Children's Services in the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be working closely with Clinicians and Managers at all levels providing remote and face-to-face training and devising other resources to ensure that the Trust is supported to meet the challenges of the MCA and its applications in a variety of clinical and complex situations. You will experience a high level of support from your team and be encouraged to be innovative and creative in your approach.
Working Pattern: One position 37.5 hours per week, flexible options available and one position 22.5 hours per week.
