Are you a current or recent student of the University of Cumbria?
We are the University of Cumbria, a place where people are at the heart of all we do, where enriching the lives of our students, staff, and the communities we serve means we make a difference that really matters.
These posts offer flexible working hours, allowing you to choose the shifts that fit around your academic studies. We welcome applications from all current students as well as those having completed their degree (or equivalent) in the last year.
Apply to work with various Departments across the University - Marketing and Student Recruitment, Academic Registry, Student Services, and International Development Office. As a Student Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to support a diverse range of activities, ranging from content production, events, student support, administration, peer-to-peer activities, whilst building and growing your skillset alongside your studies.
Drawing upon your first-hand experience and knowledge, as a student, your support will be integral in enhancing the promotion of the University to both prospective students and their influencers. You will work with a wide range of individuals and groups, offering opportunities to strengthen your communication skills with both learners, influencers, and stakeholders.
We are looking for individuals who are willing to learn and develop within these roles, building skills around teamwork, organisation, administration, customer service, or content production. Successful candidates will be supported to develop professionalism, technical knowledge, and key skills, including working independently.
Please note:
1. Interviews will be in person on campus lasting approximately 1 hour.
2. Due to the nature of the responsibilities and staff support required, these roles are on-site roles with limited ability to work from home.
3. If you are an International Student on a (sponsored) Student Visa, the maximum number of hours you are allowed to work during term-time is 20 hours per week.
Informal enquiries: Grace Sewell, Student Recruitment Engagement Manager, grace.sewell@cumbria.ac.uk or Alison Otto, Course Enquiry Centre Administrator – studentambassadors@cumbria.ac.uk
We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison to the sector.
