Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in computer science
* Knowledge in business administration to assist with the decisions in a company’s IT policy.
* Master’s degree in science (MSc) in IT, application or network architecture, computer science or data architecture.
* A Master’s in systems architecture and IT management.
* Certified Enterprise Architect professional (CEAP)
* The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
* The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Experience and Skills:
* Seven to ten years of experience in IT, information security or a related field
* Ability to scrutinise the domains of the enterprise’s structure to improve operations and align the business and technology to be transparent
* Ability to analyse data and information generated by the enterprise and operational labour structure to identify cost-savings opportunities
* Skills in developing standards and policies that guide the use of IT assets
* Excellent communication skills for educating employees on best practices for applying the company’s IT products, resources and solutions
* Expert knowledge in computer science and IT to research IT solutions and identify ways to enhance existing operations
* Expertise in cloud computing
* Efficiency in time management, project management and demonstrative of the company’s service oriented architecture (SOA)
* Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly, plain English way
* Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite, in particular strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Core Responsibilities and Duties
General:
* Determining the technology system architecture and functional design needed to support and meet company business goals
* Setting the context, defining common elements, and creating patterns and standards to apply the details at a project level
* Assisting management and stakeholders in evaluating the business’ mission and ensuring that the company uses its IT assets effectively
* Documenting the process using multiple architectural models
* Evaluating existing IT systems for exposure or weaknesses that could compromise performance, security or efficiency
* First-hand experience developing and building models based on The Enterprise Framework
* Implementing shared infrastructure to optimise information management systems
* Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture, Principles, guidelines, templates and reference materials (including physical, logical and conceptual designs) to accelerate the creation of new architectures
* Works closely with organisational strategy teams, supply chain partnerships and other organisations to document the ICT requirements of the extended Sellafield Ltd enterprise.
* Provides strategic advice and guidance to other business functions responsible for implementation and delivery of the strategy.
* Works with the other members of the Architecture team to decompose business requirements into Architecture Building Blocks and Solution Building Blocks
* Works with the ICT Project Management Office to deliver business improvement and change.
* Engages with PPP business to understand and develop emerging requirements into an ICT roadmap that will support the delivery of the initiatives
* Provides input to organisational portfolio planning and ICT Strategy
* Interprets changes in business models within organisations outside Sellafield and helps Sellafield benefit from similar changes where they may be of benefit.
Specific:
* The role will work with SL/Partner Portfolio Leads and Category Managers to maximise use of existing solutions if beneficial, supporting BA and TA with Demand to Delivery process.
* The role works with the Sellafield Architecture Team who are responsible for supporting Sellafield to understand and develop the PPP business strategy, developing architectural models, artefacts, and roadmaps.
* The EA supports the ICT Strategy such that it is based on current and future business needs and requirements for improving all aspects of the business which rely on information technology systems.
* The Enterprise Architect works closely with senior management across the PPP organisation and other stakeholders to document the current and future states of the evolving business, including any interim steps that are needed to achieve the full scope of any required business changes. The Enterprise Architect also needs to have an awareness of evolving models of business outside of Sellafield Ltd including within Partner organisations.
* The Enterprise Architect must demonstrate an awareness and reflect the architectural principle – Security by Design, ensuring that this is reflected in the architectural recommendations.
