The successful candidate will be required to participate in a variety of duties including:
1. Generic prescribing of services adhering to local and national guidelines.
2. Supporting the nursing team with effective management of long-term conditions.
3. Processing administration in a timely manner, including referrals, prescription requests, results, documents, reports, and patient tasks.
4. On a rotational basis, undertake the half-day duty doctor role.
5. Ensure accurate clinical records.
6. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
7. Cover colleagues, results, prescriptions, and admin duties when they are absent from the surgery.
8. Undertake home visits as required.
9. Adhere to best practice through clinical guidelines and participate in audits.
10. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
11. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the practice, e.g., clinical governance, training, HR.
12. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all the staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.
Meetings to attend include:
1. Monthly clinical meeting where learning is shared from significant events, medication updates, or innovative process suggestions.
2. Protected Learning Time where the whole team discusses upcoming changes, opportunities, or issues facing the surgery.
3. Monthly 2 to 1 GP support time with a partner to discuss any challenging patients or issues you are facing.
There may be an occasional requirement to carry out other tasks depending on workload and staffing levels.
