Main duties of the job To investigate, validate and correct information relating to the Patients attendance/Discharge from the Emergency Department. To Audit, reconcile, and transfer clinically generated Coding information from the Patient Record and EDMS, inputting onto the A&E Department Maxims system. To ensure accurate input of patient information using all aspects of the Patient information system Care flow Live when adjusting errors, ensuring all attendance /Discharge details are correct. Contribute to accuracy and completeness of ED coding which underpins the Payment by Results initiative and national clinical coding requirements. To liaise with wards and other hospital departments as necessary to view information in source documentation, required to update Patient episodes. To work within the wider departmental Data Quality Team to investigate incidents of incorrectly recorded data and instigate appropriate remedial action. Demonstrate effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
