Join to apply for the Phlebotomist role at Blue Sky Marketing.
We have full-time/part-time positions available.
As a member of the phlebotomy team, you will provide a patient-friendly service over a 6-day week between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00. Phlebotomists are expected to offer helpful and professional service to patients and healthcare staff within the Trust and primary care.
Applications are invited from experienced Phlebotomists to join our team delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. We also welcome applications from individuals with minimal or no Phlebotomy experience, provided they possess other required attributes. All successful applicants, unless they meet a standard to work in all needed areas, will start on a Band 2, progressing to Band 3 upon demonstrating competence in all areas.
We seek individuals with the skill and flexibility to support our services in Outpatients, Trust wards, and GP clinics. Successful candidates should be willing to participate in the weekend rota and may be asked to cover other sites (Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals) during unexpected leave/staff shortages.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring blood specimens are taken without causing undue anxiety to the patient.
2. Providing laboratories with timely, high-quality blood specimens taken in appropriate tubes for the requested tests.
3. Caring for and collecting blood samples from patients as part of their diagnosis and treatment.
What We Look For:
* Phlebotomy experience
* Excellent patient care and compassion
* Teamwork
* Ability to work across our sites
* Good IT skills
* Willingness to work weekends
* Physical ability to undertake the role's requirements, including standing, sitting, stretching, or reaching to take blood, raising and lowering phlebotomy chairs and patient beds, and walking between wards and departments while pushing a trolley.
Join a highly valued and respected team that makes a real difference to our patients. We provide a Phlebotomy service across all our sites, caring for patients on our wards, those attending our outpatient services, and in several outlying GP surgeries. Having a blood test is often an essential step in a patient's diagnosis or treatment, and the care we provide makes a significant difference in this journey.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
We are committed to creating a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where everyone belongs, and where learning, improvement, and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The Trust employs over 9,000 staff and has a turnover exceeding £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors, who represent their constituencies' interests and influence the Foundation Trust's future plans.
We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements; all requests for flexible and part-time working will be considered.
