Accounts Assistant Annual Salary: £23,000 - £27,000 Location: West Ipswich Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including processing supplier invoices, handling payments, and managing payroll. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial document management and be proficient in using accounting software like Sage 50. Day-to-day of the role: Process all supplier invoices and handle weekly BACS payment runs. Send out customer statements monthly and provide any requested invoices. Manage the monthly direct debit submissions and process card payments over the phone. Prepare accrual and prepayment journals. Conduct weekly payroll operations using Sage 50. File financial documents and ensure accurate record-keeping. Allocate all transactions and handle the depositing of cheques and cash takings. Complete daily cashbook reconciliation and take responsibility for month-end bank reconciliation. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role. Familiarity with financial accounting statements and processes. Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes. Hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Sage 50. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills. Excellent organising abilities and capability to work independently.
