In this newly created role, we are seeking enthusiastic team players to work with our blue-chip clients. We advise and handle disputes for major insurers, Lloyds syndicates, large corporates, utilities, and local authorities. This role will have a particular focus on cyber and data risks.
The Team
Our cyber team works closely with insurers, brokers, incident managers and data forensics to respond to data breaches and cyber risk incidents, helping clients of all sizes, from third sector and SMEs through to global corporates. We are part of a market leading and innovative solution, providing an integrated response to guide clients through their crisis and advise on regulatory investigations and privacy litigation that follows.
We are the preferred legal services provider for the cyber insurance industry, ensuring a steady and increasing influx of data breach cases. Our team typically serves as the first responder, offering legal counsel in tandem with forensic investigations.
As a rapidly evolving area of insurance risk, cyber insurance has a limited number of experts, making it an ideal field for those seeking an exciting new career challenge. We are also dedicated to nurturing and developing our internal talent.
Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for new colleagues who have an interest in the cyber and data protection area. This work suits self-starters with the ability to provide immediate advice in time-critical matters.
As part of the cyber team you will:

What are we looking for?
* 1PQE+ experience as a solicitor, legal executive or equivalent
* Experience of insurance and litigation is essential
* Experience of cyber and data protection claims is desirable
* Understanding of commercial insurance policies, the insurance market, reporting arrangements, reserving philosophies, and the relationship between brokers, underwriters/insurers and lawyers would be valuable
* Previous secondment to or employment with an insurance organisation would be advantageous
* Ability to work to deadlines / targets, to prioritise and manage a caseload and to work under pressure to deliver effective solutions
* Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative
* A commercial, solution-driven and client-focused approach
* Strong legal and analytical skills and an eye for detail
* Excellent organisation and time-management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude
* Excellent IT skills
* Excellent teamwork skills
