As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be reporting to the Site Manager. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for setting and delivering all planning and metal control activities. You will also be expected to deliver outstanding customer service, optimize manufacturing processes, and reduce working capital, as well as develop, implement, and drive through business improvement and change.

Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is one of four businesses within the Efficient Natural Resources sector that manages, distributes, refines, and recycles precious metals and fabricates products using precious metals and related materials. The business unit also manufactures platinum group metals, minor metal compounds, organometallics, and fine metal powders for high technology applications, as well as providing a range of management services for platinum group metals.
PGMS has manufacturing operations in the UK, US, and China and sells to key markets globally across Europe, the US, China, and India.
Your Responsibilities:
* EHS
- Support EHS principles to ensure that EHS is given top priority and good practice is followed at all times.
* Planning and Material Control
- Lead the Production and Material Control Teams, inspiring the team to drive outstanding performance in customer satisfaction and inventory control.
- Own the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) 1-3 month plan for the 3 UK business. Ensure issues are understood and contingencies developed where required.
- Sign-off of longer-term plan with site capability taking into account future resource and plant changes to close gaps from current.
- Set the pace and drive the UK operation to deliver against business objectives / KPI’s through effective MPS.
* Receiving, Warehouse & Shipping
- Ensure all internal and external regulatory requirements are met for records, paperwork, vendor selection, and material packing for incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes but is not limited to JM Security guidelines, dangerous goods regulations, environmental transport regulations, etc.
- Ensure storage of material onsite meets EHS, security, and COMAH.
- Working according to the Site production plan, ensure relevant materials are delivered and moved in/out of production areas as required to ensure time schedules are met.
* Systems
- Ensure that the team is developing advanced IT skills and communication development reporting, both verbal and written.
- Manage the process of designing, specifying, developing, and implementing production control process improvements in collaboration with the Advanced Supply Chain team.
- Represent the operational supply chain team in the development of new ERP & inventory control systems development.
* People
- Lead and develop a mid-sized planning/supply chain team(s).
- Develop teams to improve the efficiency of the group and lead to widening the scope of individuals.
Requirements for the Role:
* Advanced knowledge of supply chain planning.
* Materials control experience.
* Experience in inventory management.
* Experience in logistics and warehouse management.
* Strong decision-making ability, using problem-solving techniques where needed.
* Business and customer awareness.
