Job summary The Medical Microbiology department is looking for a permanent Band 2 Administrative Officer to join our team. This role will include routine administrative duties, responding to email and telephone enquires, and assisting the service with general organisation and service delivery. This role is best suited to candidates who have worked in a busy Pathology office, who are able to demonstrate initiative to complete often conflicting demands and tasks. An understanding and dedication to putting our patients first is key, and strong communication and organisation skills are essential in this role. Main duties of the job Aim of Role: To be an efficient and flexible member of the SWL Pathology team providing a consistently high quality and professional service to all users of the service. Key Result Areas: 1. To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Medical Microbiology department. 2. To manage and act on e-mail message received into general Microbiology mailboxes. 3. To contribute to the efficient and effective running of department and sections as appropriate.
