Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Lincoln
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £25-£30 P/hr PAYE
A Snapshot of Your Day:
As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analysing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
How You'll Make an Impact:
1. Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers - Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
2. Contain, manage and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Siemens Energy assembly facilities, warehouses or customers globally.
3. Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
4. Assist with process improvements.
5. Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
6. Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
7. Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business.
8. Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
9. Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements.
10. Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances.
What You Bring:
Required:
1. Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
2. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
4. Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
5. Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
6. Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
7. Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects.
8. Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
9. Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
Experience or working with critical parts.
Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
SAP experience.
