The Pump House Surgery is looking to welcome a qualified dispenser into our busy practice, on a part time basis, with hours to be discussed at interview, who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. You will be offering general assistance and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial/clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team. The main responsibilities of the role include: Ensure all medicines & appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription. Collect all due prescription charges & ensure that the patient declaration is completed. Ensure monies received on behalf of the practice are appropriately stored and banked. Endorse all prescription forms, collate and forward in a secure manner. Operate efficient stock control with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients & minimise wastage through out of date stock. Ensure shelves and work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene and that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins that may be received. Ensure refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature, maintain a temperature control record/logbook. About the Candidate If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and experience: You will have at least a Diploma Level 2 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification. General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage but full training will be given. The commitment to continue to learn new clinical skills and develop your career. The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making. The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach. Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills. There is an expectation for the successful candidate to work additional hours or be flexible with their shifts to cover annual leave and unplanned absence.
