Location : Runcorn, UK What You Will Do : We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical CAD Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of precision, functionality, and durability. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be a central figure in driving mechanical innovation and supporting the design process. Develop and create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (preferably Creo or SolidWorks) for mechanical components and assemblies. Collaborate with the product development team to design and optimize mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines. Lead and manage design validation processes, including prototyping, testing, and analysis, to ensure designs meet functional and performance requirements. Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to production, troubleshooting any issues during fabrication and assembly. Support engineering changes, revisions, and documentation updates in line with product lifecycle management. Continuously explore new mechanical design methodologies and tools to enhance design efficiency and product performance. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of designs, specifications, and engineering changes. Qualifications & Skills : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on CAD modeling and drafting. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally Creo, SolidWorks, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and design for manufacturability. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other engineering and production teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver designs on time in a fast-paced environment.
