Construction Procurement Manager - Major Project
£60,000 - £85,000 + Package

One of the nation's leading construction organisations is investing heavily in its Strategic Procurement Hub, and due to an influx of major £Multi-Million projects they are in need of a Construction Procurement specialist to join their award-winning team.
This role will work on a new major project the business has secured. This is a £multi-billion mega-program, with the goal of making key breakthroughs in modern medicine.
As Construction Category Manager you will:
1. Spearhead complex sourcing projects across the Construction procurement categories, utilising your experience of JCT / NEC3.
2. Support the Head of Procurement in the overall delivery of the programme and in ensuring the necessary process, system & people are in place.
3. Develop senior stakeholder relationships, expanding procurement's involvement and control of non-traditional spend areas.
4. Use your deep knowledge of sourcing and/or category management processes to drive transformational change and improvement.
5. Manage & mentor more junior procurement specialists (and quantity surveyors) in best-practice sourcing (previous management experience is not required but beneficial).
Required experience & qualifications:
1. Degree, Prince 2 & MCIPS qualifications (preferable not essential).
2. Significant experience in Construction procurement categories, with specialist knowledge of either JCT or NEC3 (not essential but an advantage).
3. Subcontract Procurement experience in a large organisation.
4. A thorough understanding of legal frameworks and contract law and knowledge of Contract management processes.
5. Experience of negotiating complex high value/ high business impact commercial deals and contractual terms and conditions with a track record of delivering value.
