We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to support financial operations of the Secretariat around the world to enable it to optimise its resource usage and safeguard its assets. Providing specific support for financial planning, fundraising, project finances, systems development and training.
In this role, you will be working closely with Divisions and Project Teams to ensure robust project and divisional finance. You will be at the table with the Divisional teams to support and challenge project proposals and project finances, providing early warning of any financial risks and working with the project teams and divisions to mitigate these.
How you will do this:
* Prepare forecasts for monthly management accounts
* Work with project teams to develop proposal budgets
* Support project teams with financial aspects of projects and reporting to funders to ensure funder requirements are met
* Support project and regulatory audits
* Provide appropriate training and mentoring in finance matters to Secretariat staff
* Support the development and maintenance of appropriate financial policies and procedures across the organisation’s decentralised operations to adequately manage financial risks
Ideally you will have:
* Accounting qualification (we will consider qualification by experience)
* Knowledge of UK company, taxation and charities legislation
* Significant track record of business, financial and other relevant administrative experience
* Ability to guide, influence and challenge in a consistent and constructive way
* Ability to act as a “critical friend” to budget holders and other stakeholders
* Strong communication skills
* Creative, innovative and methodical approach to problem solving
* Foreign language skills an advantage
