We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic and friendly Care Navigator (Reception Staff) to join our busy GP Practice in Harrow. The applicant should be able to work under pressure, use their own initiative, and have excellent communication and IT skills.
This role is preferably for a full-time permanent position for 37.5 hours per week within the operating hours of the Surgery, which is 7:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday (closed on weekends).
The pay rate is £12/hr.

1. Security of Building - unlock/lock doors, windows; turn alarm on/off at appropriate times. Complete security checklist when securing premises.
2. Turn on/off computers and printers.
3. Make appointments with doctors, nurses, and various clinics over telephone and directly at the reception desk.
4. Process e-requests for appointments and general administrative enquiries.
5. Signpost patients and other visitors to the correct service and monitor their movement around the premises.
6. Operate the computerised telephone system.
7. Book ambulances, both routine and in an emergency as required.
8. Accurately record messages and visits on the appointment system.
9. Obtain pathology and other test results when requested by a doctor or nurse.
10. Manage all administrative queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
11. Be proficient in the use of the photocopier and other office equipment.
12. Be familiar with and proficient in communicating by e-mail.
13. Extract and file medical records when required by authorised persons.
14. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
15. Make tea and coffee in turn.
16. Prepare repeat prescriptions as appropriate.
17. Complete administrative details on all documentation as required.
18. Promptly action requests from the Attention Box.
19. Record messages for Community Nursing Staff.
20. Pack pathology samples and correspondence for transmission as appropriate.
21. Maintain computerised appointment plans for all clinicians.
22. Ensure patients records are kept updated promptly - e.g. with change of address.
23. Ensure that reception stationery stocks are maintained.
24. Carry out full new patient registration, temporary patient registration and patient de-registration procedures as appropriate.
25. Petty Cash handling.
26. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
27. Undertake other duties as may be determined commensurate with the range of activities described above.
The successful candidate will be courteous, efficient and have excellent customer service skills. They will be working alongside other Care Navigators and Clinicians and will be an integral part of the team. Experience working in primary care/NHS would be desirable.
