Overview Reporting to the Global Category Director for Marketing Services and Meeting & Events, this person will be responsible for elements of the spend, strategic planning and leadership of selected initiatives within the Meeting & Events Category. The scope of the role includes responsibility for associated expenditures within the parameters of the role. Specifically but not exhaustively, the CM M&E has responsibility for stakeholder and supplier engagement activities associated with Meetings and Events Services such as Event Management, Tradeshows & Exhibition, and Venue bookings ( Hotels, Congress, etc). The CM establishes and proactively manages key business stakeholder relationships, leads proactive sourcing projects, influences specification definition & demand management, and manages category-specific supplier performance and innovation activities. Responsibilities setting process. Accountable for the delivery of specific elements Accountable to support the creation of M&E policy in line with Business Stakeholders requirements. Work closely with Travel Global Category Manager for category alignment and consolidation opportunities. Responsible for the collection of suppliers, supply market, category and internal business data and information for elements of the M&E Category strategies. Responsible for the communication and distribution of selected category-specific strategies to the relevant stakeholders Accountable for identifying key supplier risks Accountable for ensuring that any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis. Accountable for ensuring the Category projects agreed to within the M&E Subcategory Strategies are executed in a timely basis in line with the targeted goals Responsible for supporting the establishment of the overall M&E Category segmentation and identification of key supplier relationships Responsible for the creation, application, completion and review of major contracts Accountable for ensuring negotiated contracts are clearly communicated to business stakeholders for the M&E Category and that they are consistently applied Education / Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required at a minimum, in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification. Minimum of 5 years expereince within this category
