Job overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an administrator to join our Cardiology team at Worthing Hospital, as a part of the Cardiac Catheter Lab Team.
We are looking for a positive, proactive, and professional administrator to join our team. If you have excellent interpersonal skills, are a good communicator, and have a strong desire to deliver outstanding support to our clinical teams then this could be the role for you.
To support the Band 4 Specialty Coordinators within the department to provide an efficient, effective admin support service to the clinical and non-clinical Care Group teams.
You will be responsible for the booking of procedures for the Cardiac Catheter Lab and typing the reports once the procedures have been completed.
Main duties of the job
* Typing of various clinical letters and reports as appropriate within the department and other correspondence from audio dictation using Bighand/Word/Office Automation and Evolve.
* Scanning documentation to Evolve.
* Responding to patient queries and booking patient appointments.
* Distribute incoming post on a regular basis.
* Prioritising work according to changing demands.
* To ensure that case notes are tidy with all correspondence filed appropriately and carried out on a regular basis (both paper and electronic format)
* To use and obtain information from the Patient Administration Systems (PAS) CareFlow and Bluespier.
* To maintain good communication with the Consultants, Nursing, Management, supporting staff and all other staff, as well as patients, outside professions and members of the public.

* Workload is supervised by band 4 (Specialty Coordinator).
* To maintain good communication with the Consultants, their supporting staff and other staff within the department, as well as outside of the Department.
* To deal with general enquiries in an appropriate and sensitive manner, as efficiently as possible, either in person, over the telephone or via email from staff, patients and the general public, escalating where appropriate.
* Emailing of correspondence to GPs and internal teams.
* Liaise with relevant team members to ensure that any process changes run smoothly and efficiently.
* Chase results as requested.
* Attendance at any department huddles and regular team meetings, as required.
* Communicate with the team and ensure that duties are carried out as requested.
Person specification
Qualifications
* GCSE A-C and or Educated to NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent level of experience
* RSA II or equivalent typing experience
Knowledge, Training, Experience
* Good numeracy and literacy skills Computer literate in MS Word, Outlook & Excel Understanding of the Hospital environment.
* Awareness of Health & Safety issues, information governance & the data protection act.
* Medical Terminology Qualification Accurate audio typing.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Flexible team worker.

* Ability to use own judgement / initiative.
