Assistant Accountant (6 months FTC) Abergavenny, Monmouthshire £30,000 bens Based in Abergavenny, our client, a dynamic subsidiary of an innovative multinational corporate, is looking for an Assistant Accountant in their UK Head Office on a 6 month fixed term contract The Assistant Accountant will support the Senior Financial Accountant in preparation of journals and reconciliations under their remit. Work with the ledger team to ensure invoices correctly coded. Liaise with other teams within the business for further understanding of the financial figures and SOX compliance. Duties will include: Prepare and submit journals for approval, including all relevant backup Maintain a complete and correct Fixed Asset subledger including processing all additions, deletions and changes Assist with ensuring all asset invoices are correctly coded and processed monthly by the ledger team Assist with Monthly and Annual close of Fixed Asset subledger in Sage X3 Prepare and submit balance sheet reconciliations for approval, including all relevant backup Prepare monthly and annual FA SOX compliance procedures for approval by the Senior Financial Accountant Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with all internal, SOX and statutory audit requirements Assist with monthly ONS Surveys relating to assets Assist the FP&A team with monthly asset analysis Ongoing process improvements, with focus on finding efficiencies and automation to enhance reporting around assets Other ad-hoc tasks Liaise with other business departments and teams The Ideal candidate for the Assistant Accountant: AAT qualification or early-stage part qualified ACCA/CIMA Strong IT skills required, including Excel SOX & USGAAP experience an advantage Ambitious and self-motivated individual Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working within a fast-paced Finance team Apply now: If you are interested in this 6 month FTC Accounts Assistant role then please apply now for immediate consideration
