Job Summary: The Harbert College of Business Information Technology department is currently accepting applications for the position of Classroom Recording Specialist. This position will manage the classroom recording efforts of the College.

Essential Functions: The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
* Recording and Technical Oversight: Set up and manage recording equipment in the classrooms; ensure high-quality audio and visual capture during lectures, presentations, and other educational activities.
* Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of recorded sessions, including dates, times, and relevant details; organize and archive recorded content for easy retrieval; collaborate with IT staff to ensure secure storage and backup of recordings.
* Quality Assurance: Review recorded content for clarity, accuracy, and completeness; address any discrepancies and technical glitches; work closely with instructors to improve recording quality.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with academic departments (faculty and staff) to schedule recording sessions; collaborate with instructional designers to enhance the educational value of recorded content.
* Employee Supervision and Evaluation: Manage hiring and training of recording team; evaluate recording staff performance annually; prepare recording team schedules and oversee adherence to schedule; supervise TES and up to 20 student employees.
* Training: Train faculty and teaching assistants on recording procedures; provide ongoing support to educators regarding recording best practices and utilizing recording technology effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
We are posting this job at two levels: Classroom Recording Specialist level III and IV. Candidates will be assigned a level based on their qualifications.
* Level III: Bachelor degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Film or Television Production, Computer Graphics or related field and at least 4 years experience in providing creative, technical, or support services for various media.
* Level IV: Bachelor degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Film or Television Production, Computer Graphics or related field and at least 6 years experience in providing creative, technical, or support services for various media.
* For candidates without degrees: 8 years of experience may substitute for a degree, in addition to the required years of experience.
* Degrees above a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for years of experience.
