Im described by the people who know me best as a real character, funny, cheeky and determined.Im a sociable, young man with a great sense of humour, but can get very anxious when trying new things or going to new places, it can take me a little while to get used to new people.When I get anxious, I dont always react in the right way, but when Im put at ease, I can be very good company. I need help with personal care and transfers, but my physio and current Support Workers are helping me to get stronger and to learn new skills.I would like support to help me transition to my new adult placement, three days a week, after you collect me and take me home, Id like help with food preparation. I would also like support for two days a week to access community facilities or to experience social and leisure activities, engage in therapy, and to further develop my life skills.I like to be active and busy, and love playing games, especially bingo, singing Karaoke and anything food related.I enjoy being outdoors and would like to try bowling, eating out and other similar things. Although I need a lot of support, I love being as independent as possible and I enjoy helping with domestic and household tasks. I am looking for an enthusiastic, fun, patient, and reliable support team to help me to manage my personal care and to engage as independently as possible, in the activities I love.You will need to be calm and patient under pressure and be able to apply a consistent approach and work well as a team. To join me as a Support Worker/Therapy Assistant you will: - Be able to drive and have use of a car. Be willing to drive my van. Have experience of working with young adults.
