Role Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller with extensive experience in managing aged debt and liaising directly with clients to ensure smooth financial operations. Proficiency in Xero and a hands-on approach to financial management are essential for this role Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including invoicing, payments, and receipts. Take charge of aged debt management, ensuring timely payments and resolving outstanding issues with clients. Perform regular bank reconciliations and manage cash flow. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to address financial queries and ensure smooth transactions. Proactively resolve issues related to payments and outstanding debts. Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyse financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Compliance & Administration: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Assist with preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Support Functions: Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as required. Support other administrative functions to enhance overall organizational efficiency. Key Requirements Experience: Proven experience in a financial management role, with expertise in aged debt management and client liaison. Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software. Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualifications: Relevant financial or accounting qualifications are desirable but not essential.
