The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the management of the ViSOR database on behalf of Police Scotland under the direction of the National ViSOR Unit (NVU) Supervisor. ViSOR Support Officers (VSOs) will be responsible for the creation, allocation, administration and oversight of ViSOR records as assigned to them by the NVU Supervisor.
They will ensure that ViSOR records are compliant with national standards, local standards, Standard Operating Procedures and guidance. The jobholder will manage ViSOR user accounts as directed by NVU Supervisor.
VSOs will be required to provide cover for other VSOs during periods of annual leave and where a workload imbalance requires addressed. If suitably experienced VSOs may deputise and undertake ViSOR tasks normally undertaken by the NVU Supervisor should an operational need arise.
VSOs will be the first point of contact for ViSOR users seeking guidance and advice in relation to the management and maintenance of ViSOR records and will also provide service users guidance and advice in relation to relevant legislation.
VSOs will be required to liaise with Clerks of Court, as directed by the NVU Supervisor, in order to ensure Police Scotland reacts appropriately and lawfully where Courts have inappropriately interpreted the application of Sex Offender Notification Requirements.
This role will be Monday-Friday, 8-4.
