About The Role
Summary
Operate the Fermentation, Process Condensate Treatment, and Ethanol Storage areas of the Bio-Ethanol plant, including associated utilities, using the Emerson Delta V DCS system. Ensure that all systems are operated safely, efficiently and with maximum availability, and that emergency systems are maintained in a state of readiness and availability. Provide support to the Shift Supervisor in managing plant balance and Short Interval Control (SIC).
Key Responsibilities
1. An assessed knowledge of the following, based on the Competence Standard for role: Fermentation and Process Condensate Treatment areas managed from the CCR, including utilities for these areas. Ensuring full compliance with VFL operating standards and procedures.
2. Work towards an assessed knowledge of the following, based on the Competence Standard for role: All Three areas managed from the CCR, including utilities for these areas. Ensuring full compliance with VFL operating standards and procedures.
3. Maintain competence on all areas to a standard where the postholder can run any job at short notice.
4. Monitor the area under control and respond to deviations from setpoints and alarms, maintaining product specification.
5. Working with the Plant Science Manager and Solids CRO ensure that fermenter yield is maximised to increase EtOH production.
6. Provide support for Solids and Distillery CROs.
7. Carry out emergency response duties as per Vivergo and site emergency plans.
8. Ensuring that batch and continuous operation and cleaning activities are executed in a safe and timely manner ensuring continuous production of products to the correct quality.
9. Interactions within the bio-ethanol shift team, contributing direction to outside technicians and assistance to others.
10. Maintain good working relations and a high level of interaction with the associated SCP shift manager to ensure Vivergo's utility needs are able to be catered for efficiently.
11. Compiling and maintaining an accurate record of shift activities and conducting a formal handover to oncoming shift team colleagues.
12. Provide absence cover within role, working rota days off when required.
About You
Knowledge – skills and experience required
1. Experience of a production role in a control room is preferred.
2. Demonstrated experience on a COMAH site is preferred.
3. Knowledge of ATEX and DSEAR is an advantage.
4. Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Office products.
5. This is a shift-based role so weekend and night shift working is expected.
