NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Advisor for the Southeast area.
The Care Pathway team is a newly formed team, and we’re passionate about improving patient outcomes by focusing on driving quality. As a team of dedicated clinicians, our Clinical Nurse Advisors aim to do this by developing partnership working with clinical and non-clinical colleagues in NHS organisations across integrated care systems, supporting the adoption of Value Based Procurement, Innovation including the MedTech Funding Mandate and developing case studies that can be shared to promote best practice.
Working within Integrated Care Systems (ICS), you will be leading development of Care Pathways, which include Value Based Procurement, Innovation and delivering value for money.
Using latest guidance, best practice and nationally approved recommendations (GIRFT, MedTech Directorate, AHSNs, NICE, MHRA, Royal Colleges, NHSE), and collaborating with NHS Supply Chain stakeholders (Hospital and Out of Hospital Care teams) you will support organisations to adopt clinical best practice, transforming care pathway outcomes for patients.
Every day you will:
1. Drive the adoption of innovative products, devices and services including those on the NHS England MedTech Funding Mandate policy within identified ICS care pathways.
2. Drive the adoption of clinical practice, from published Value Based Procurement (VBP) case studies within identified ICS care pathways.
3. Develop partner led VBP case studies, that address ICS care pathways clinical pain points.
4. Engage with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to explore, influence, and deliver Value Based Procurement and Innovation.
5. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and NHSSC colleagues, to gain greater insight to the purchasing drivers and needs of the NHS.
6. Bring customer insights back into NHSSC to support other functions to drive their service delivery plans.
7. Explore and identify end to end patient pathways with customers to support the delivery of improved patient outcomes.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
1. Experience of working as a clinical nurse (or equivalent clinical professional with an active professional registration).
2. Experience of working in multi-supplier service environments gained within NHS industry.
3. Experience of relationship building with multiple stakeholders.
4. Strong understanding of NHS programmes to support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan.
5. Track record of change management and influencing the clinical need for change.
6. Project management experience, including project risk identification and stakeholder mapping.
7. Understanding of Care Pathways and Value Based Procurement.
8. Strong communication skills including listening carefully to customer needs.
