Corporate Communications & External Affairs
Our communications and external affairs team are at the very heart of Reckitt's brand, purpose and products, bringing them to life around the globe for our employees, consumers, investors, governments and our suppliers.
It's a rewarding task, growing and protecting Reckitt's image and brand. Every day, we design public relations and communication strategies that build awareness, trust and relationships, while steering us away from reputational risk. We do this by gathering and maintaining knowledge of our policies, principles, and business strategies, while keeping up-to-date with relevant developments right across our business units and trusted brands.
From digital, media and events to employee experience, strategic relationships, and community partners, we identify opportunities to deliver on our business and sustainability agenda, while proactively identifying storylines and opportunities to advance our narrative.
About the role
Leading and developing a team of two Associates, this role sits on the Leadership team of the Communications & Corporate Brand (C&CB) team and is a member of the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability organisation. You will be accountable for the global corporate digital channels and influence over local corporate channels. You'll get to partner effectively with the External Affairs & HR organisation to align on messaging and strategies for external communications. Activate programmes through a strong partnership with the region and market communications network to drive consistency and scale.
Your responsibilities
In summary, you'll:
1. Define and execute the digital strategy for corporate channels in line with our corporate communications strategic priorities, defining the audience groups and associated content strategy to positively impact their views of Reckitt
2. Establish an effective content model and principles for corporate owned digital channels globally and locally
3. Contribute to the Corporate Affairs Editorial Board to ensure there is the appropriate prioritisation and impact of all communications to employees and to provide a regular stream of stories, contributing to the business storytelling efforts aligned to the global narrative
4. Advise on reactive communications, being ready to create and deploy tactics to risk mitigate, particularly on social
5. Build digital communications capability of senior leaders in partnership with the Communications Business Partners to leverage their personal digital profiles
6. Partner with External Affairs on the key messaging and external opportunities which can be leveraged across the corporate digital channels
7. Partner with Talent Acquisition to align the approach across social and web to meet the respective objectives
8. Build an effective partnership with IT&D to ensure the infrastructure to support our digital channels is robust and evolves to meet our needs
9. Build develop the high performing digital communications team with clear objectives, capabilities and development plans
The experience we're looking for
10. Circa 10+ years digital communications expert
11. Strategic communications planning and execution
12. External & Internal channel optimisation and content development
13. Social media management and activation
14. Content marketing and development, including SEO & SEM
15. Stakeholder engagement, particularly with senior leaders in a business
16. Strong business acumen and experience of operating within a leadership team outside core area of expertise
