Are you ready to lead quality assurance in one of the UK's most exciting infrastructure programmes? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is seeking a Design Quality Lead to join our team and ensure excellence in the design phase of groundbreaking projects.
About the Role
As the Design Quality Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in the SPA design team, working closely with Designers, Contractors, Suppliers, and our QA team. Your focus will be on delivering quality assurance across design and inspection phases, ensuring that risks are minimised, and health, safety, and operational standards are maintained throughout construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Coordination
1. Manage end-to-end ITP production for design and supplier teams, including creating templates, assigning tasks, and tracking progress.
2. Liaise with Contractors and Suppliers to review and approve ITPs through the OCRA process.
3. Provide training and guidance to design, contractor, and supplier teams on ITP processes.
Inspection and Test Record (ITR) Coordination
1. Collaborate with the Asset Information team to manage ITR templates for use by construction teams.
General Design QA Leadership
1. Establish and manage reporting tools for ITP production.
2. Support SPA QA team in audits and assurance activities.
3. Share quality bulletins and lessons learned across the design and wider SPA teams.
4. Act as the lead on design-related quality matters and ensure continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Proven experience delivering quality assurance on major infrastructure projects.
2. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams within large-scale programmes.
3. Strong organisational skills to manage documents, actions, and stakeholders across multiple projects.
4. Leadership and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
5. A mindset focused on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Desirable Experience:
1. Familiarity with inspection and testing protocols for infrastructure projects.
