As the Operations Excellence Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvements across all key areas of our business: Retail, Distribution, Contact Centres, and Veterinary Services. You’ll be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, planning, and executing initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and deliver outstanding value to our customers. By collaborating with Business Change and other key stakeholders, you will embed a culture of continuous improvement and drive long-lasting change.
Location: Hybrid working out of Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office (some additional travel will be necessary)
Key Responsibilities
1. Working with Business Change, scope, shape and resource a CI programme of work utilising Lean Six Sigma principles to manage projects that underpin the strategic direction of the business.
2. Engage and coordinate with the business (and each business unit), to identify, evaluate, align, and prioritise opportunities, working on complex projects of large scope.
3. Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working.
4. Provide regular detailed updates on the CI Roadmap to senior stakeholders translating complex statistical analysis into plain language.
5. Develop a consultative ‘model’ approach to unlock opportunities and build a future pipeline of activity.
6. Be responsible for the preparation, execution, and aftercare of Operational Excellence improvement projects.
7. Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance.
8. Ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times.
About You
1. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
2. 5 years of relevant experience leading Operational Excellence Teams within a retail environment
3. Strategic in mindset – unlocking value to the business.
4. Inspiring and motivating leader.
5. Collaborating and influencing others beyond your team.
6. Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions to support productivity and efficiency gains.
7. Knowledge of and demonstrable experience of business improvement tools and methodologies, project management and change management are essential.
8. Ability to identify key stakeholders; engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to influence direction of projects as well as develop a wide scope of influence.
