We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with excellent organisation skills to join our Academy! This is a joint role of DT & Art Technician at 32.5 hours. Part-time hours would be considered for exceptional candidates for either subject. This post is a vital role in the school and allows our students to explore learning via practical work and using excellently prepared resources. You will work closely with our teaching staff to ensure that students have access to well-maintained equipment, resources and a safe and conducive learning environment. The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward-thinking and successful Academy that enjoys a highly effective, committed, hardworking and friendly team of staff, who are supported by a strong Academy and Trust leadership team.
The Opportunity -
* Provide valuable support to the Art and DT teams within the Academy
* Use and maintain equipment, materials, facilities and services within departments
* Assist with departmental displays and the preparation, mounting and installation of work around the school
* Be responsible to the department leaders for health and safety matters and carry out Risk and COSHH assessments as required by the site manager.
The ideal candidate:
* Has a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in the English Language
* Maintains accurate records and maintenance plans to ensure the department is safe, compliant and functioning efficiently
* Maintains a relevant and up-to-date knowledge of technologies, tools and practices within the field. Where appropriate, attends training and/or gains certification to meet the changing needs of the department.
* Is flexible and able to work independently using own initiative and as part of a team.
* Has the ability to be resourceful and solve problems with a ‘can do’ solution
* Is a team player with good quality making skills
* Contributes to the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources and/or long-term projects and offers professional guidance, assistance and support to students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.
* Communicates effectively with all.
