Job summary This is an exceptional opportunity with this innovative primary care/general practice provider at our Medical Centre in Ilminster, Somerset, with 4 sessions available. Salary: Between £11,000 - £14,000 per session - based on experience and level of GP role undertaken in practice. The Meadows Surgery is a long-established GMS Dispensing practice with excellent access and patient feedback. Our innovative team embrace change and we are constantly looking for new models of care provision for our patients. We're also part of Symphony, the largest provider of NHS General Practice in Somerset, so benefit from the experience and learning across a network of 19 GMS and PMS practices. Ilminster is an attractive and peaceful town, boasting a variety of shops, cafes and a theatre. The county town of Taunton is less than a 30 minute drive away and has much to offer. Our transport links are great - we are located just east of the junction of the A303, making travel to London, Bristol, Exeter and Bath easy. Main duties of the job You would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner. We can offer opportunities from salaried through to employed and consultant level GP posts depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice, for example as Safeguarding Lead or providing minor surgery. All GPs working for Symphony are paid as Employees, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care. We put patients first, with our Employed and Consultant GPs focussing on continuity of care and working flexibly according to need. You will be able to contribute to areas such as QOF, QI, training and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role. Our Salaried GPs have a clearly defined job plan setting out the hours of work and responsibility and tasks associated with the role. Through annual appraisal, we encourage career development and progression and are keen to support GPs who wish to extend their role, or have specialist skills which can be utilised in primary care. We recognise that some GPs will wish to stay salaried, and some will wish to assume more responsibility once they have found their feet and aspire to Employed (providing continuity of care) or Consultant (providing clinical leadership) roles. About us Symphony Healthcare Services was established in 2016 as part of the award-winning Symphony Programme Vanguard, developing new models of care. We now provide NHS services in 19 GMS and PMS practices across Somerset providing care for 134,000 patients. We are a subsidiary of Somerset Foundation Trust, and providing NHS services is at the heart of what we do. Our vision is to ensure that primary care is sustainable for patients and practices in Somerset, and we aim to be a national exemplar for primary care provision. We work closely with our practice teams to support, develop and transform patient care and working practices with innovation and technology at the heart of what we do. By working at scale in primary care in Somerset we can offer you the opportunity to develop specialist skills with the support of a larger organisation to develop your GP career.
