HOURS = 16 PER WEEK WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF 40HOURS AT HOLIDAYS TIMES, 2 DAYS PER WEEK ANY DAYS FROM SUNDAY TO SATURDAY

JOB PURPOSE
• To co-ordinate all aspects of kitchen production so that food is prepared to the agreed standard and that time deadlines are met
• To assist to keep the kitchen clean and tidy
• To be aware of the special diets that may be required
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control e.g. menus, hygiene, health and
safety, staff, cleaning and waste control.
• To order catering consumables from current nominated suppliers.
• To complete weekly audits for kitchen reporting any finding to home manager
• To prepare menus for the nursing home taking into account the content, balance,
colour and nutritional values, in line with agreed budget.
• To consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are
being met.
• To prepare special diets for residents as directed by the nursing staff.
• To maintain the agreed stock levels of food.
• To implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen.
• To work within agreed budget guidelines on staff costs and consumables and to co-
operate in any action necessary so as to keep to budget.
RECORDING AND REPORTING
• To maintain detailed and accurate records in respect of tasks undertaken.
• To regularly read and keep up to date with new policy and procedures.
• To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the Client and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it
• To practice and promote safe working practices within the Home
• To take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions
• To be fully aware and comply with infection control policies and procedures and appropriate hand hygiene technique
• To report immediately to the Nurse in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another
• To report to the Management, Maintenance man or Nurse in charge of any faults, damaged furniture, faulty appliances, equipment or any potential hazard
• To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a Manager
• To report any complaints to the office.
• To contact the office if running late
GENERAL
• To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided by Leazes Hall
• To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery
• To attend and participate in regular team meetings and any other relevant meetings
• To attend in house and external training pertinent to your role.
• To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the office
• Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post
