The Role: This role is key in ensuring effective working capital management is in place across the business. You will manage a team (currently x4) in ensuring the following duties are carried out with appropriate supervision and oversight: Ensuring invoicing is completed accurately, in a timely manner and in line with contractual terms to enable cash to be collected as it falls due. Ensuring purchase invoices are received, matched and processed for payment and any issues are identified and resolve so as not to impact payments to suppliers Ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate for this role would be a qualified or part qualified accountant with direct team management experience. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Managing, motivating, and supporting AP/AR staff members with direct line management of 4 staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance. Reviewing month end customer invoicing process and payment runs and feeding the information into the cashflow process to support understanding of the company's financial position. Supporting AP/AR queries from customers and suppliers ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong relationships. Completing due diligence for set up new customers and suppliers ensuring compliance with internal policies and risk management standards. Liaising with Credit Controller to regularly update credit limits for customers to regularly update and review customer credit limits, managing risk and maintaining healthy cash flow. Manage outstanding AP purchase orders and ensure timely payments and prevent any overdue balances. Overseeing routine department activities to ensure that they are completed accurately efficiently, and within deadlines. Maintenance and development of cash flow forecasting on the payments providing accurate projections to support financial planning and decision-making. Setting and facilitating the achievement of AP/AR department objectives ensuring alignment with overall company goals and facilitating team achievement. Developing, implementing, improving, policies and department controls to increase accuracy, efficiency and internal controls. Educating the wider business on the purchasing process, fostering a better understanding of financial workflows and best practices. Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns for all Scantech entities ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate reporting. Who are we looking for? You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong planning and problem-solving skills. The ability to analyse information and processes and to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders within and outside of finance. The motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships. Qualifications/Skills/Experience required: Transactional finance experience is required or preferred, particularly in a leadership role. Good knowledge about accounting and management principles and Accounts Payable & Receivable procedures. Proficiency with computers, especially business solutions and bookkeeping software.
